Sunshine is the creator of Queer Audacity ATX, which opened in September 2024. They moved to Austin from Minnesota in 2009. Sunny started tattooing in 2022 when an unanticipated divorce spurred a return to themself as an artist, while simultaneously necessitating a change of career.

In addition to their doodle-flash, Sunny’s tattoos are best known for being playfully strange, often brightly colored tattoos, with bold lines. Leaning into the unhinged side of what brings out cute aggression, Sunny’s favorite things to design are expressive critters and stylized household objects.

In addition to their silly work, Sunny also loves to experiment and try several different styles. They have done a variety of black and grey, and enjoy tattooing illustrative insects, and flowers.

They have dabbled in glitter tattoos, embroidery tattoos, pixel tattoos, American traditional tattoos, and so on. One day they want to try trash polka.

When Sunny is not tattooing, they are likely hanging out with their kiddos, playing D&D, using power tools, or petting their goats.

Sunny loves discussions about psychology, sociology, and why people are the way they are. They also love being a silly lil guy sharing silly little stories.

Sunny used to be a slam poet. Sunny used to be a stay at home mom. Sunny used to be a dancer. Sunny can’t eat, like, ANY gluten.
